The objectives of the MAAD shall be:
- to protect the mutual interests of all member clubs of the MAAD;
- to promote the regional and national amateur sports competition of Deaf athletes including:
- scheduling Regional Tournaments for:
- basketball (last two (2) weekends in February/first two (2) weekends in March)
- softball (on or before the third (3rd) weekend of July), and
- other sports (and dates) as may be sanctioned or authorized;
- to promote, regulate, and award athletic championships within the MAAD;
- to provide social events for Deaf members and their friends at MAAD Tournaments;
- to affiliate with applicable naaDs
- National Softball Association of the Deaf (NSAD), June 1993, and
- United States of America Deaf Basketball (USADB), April 2000;
- to enter the MAAD representative team in respective national tournament;
- to support, financially and morally, the MAAD championship team’s participation in the National Tournament;
- to provide and serve all Deaf youths and adults with the highest ideals of
- recreational,
- cultural,
- educational, and
- athletic programs;
- to provide program for:
- leadership development training, and
- athletic training;
- to promote the establishment of an MAAD Home Office;
- to incorporate and to register for charitable purposes within the meeting of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code:
The MAAD is incorporated in the State of Missouri, and is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
